“In the summer of 2024, fate—and a farmers market—brought Essie and Colleen together. What started as two busy bakers swapping stories over folding tables quickly turned into big dreams and bigger plans. Both had outgrown their home kitchens and were on the hunt for more space (and a little less chaos).
One day, Colleen joked, “Isn’t popcorn gluten-free?”
To which Essie—ever the expert—replied, “Not always!”
That moment sparked something magical.
By January 2025, they’d joined forces and started scouting properties, determined to build a space where gluten-free goodies could truly shine. They found the perfect spot in Hedgesville, WV and spent the next five months transforming it—paint, drywall, ovens, popcorn kettles, the works.
And just like that, Gourmet Goddesses was born.
Now they’re baking, popping, and serving up smiles for their loyal local customers—with big dreams of taking their gluten-free goodness nationwide.
